• Can the reason for removal be adequately addressed by a pruning or cabling/bracing procedure, or a combination of these procedures?
• How severe are the structural defects in the trunk and stems?
• What is the possible threat posed to structures or people?
• Trees that grow together work together with environmental conditions, particularly wind.  What impact will removing the tree(s) have on the remaining stand?
• If a tree appears to be regressing, can root issues be addressed to increase vigor?
• If a tree appears to be “leaning” it probably grew that way phototropically (toward the available sunlight) out from under the canopy of a more dominant tree and perhaps over a house where the sunlight is prevalent. Can that tree be pruned back or canopy reduced to compensate for the out of balance weight?
• Can a construction project be planned to include the existing trees?
